Dr Freeman added: “When looking at imputed data from UK-licensed distributors and wholesalers, it is very important to check the authenticity of the drugs. Fake brands are much more difficult to counterfeit than genuine medicines. There is a very high likelihood that the manufacturer does not provide enough details about the drug to provide an effective imputation. The imputed data is also very difficult to replicate using standard procedures and is a major source of data for imputation.”
